Through this week's reading, I have learned how easily parents can influence their children. Even though Dave was clearly the victim in this situation, his mother manged to manipulate Dave and her three children into thinking that he is a a piece of trash. Children grow up aspiring to be like their parents and copy all of their actions. I know this from personal experience as I would wear my mom's heels, makeup and hair accessories to try and be just like her. Children are too innocent and pure to know any better because we all think our parents are superheros. Although no loving parents would be so cruel to abuse their child, they must be careful about the words and actions they express around their children because those qualities are almost immediately ingrained into their minds as being appropriate because their idols are also doing it.
This week has defiantly been long and sleepless (due to the AP World History Test all of the sophomores were stressing about) so I haven't has much time to sit down and really read my book and absorb its content. But on Thursday I managed to catch up on all of my reading. I still have not applied any reading skills because this book is relatively easy.
